# Aviz Service Node v2.4

AI-Ready Packet Intelligence for Modern Network Observability

April 9, 2026

## Overview

Aviz Service Node (ASN) is an AI-ready, software-defined packet intelligence platform that delivers deep visibility, intelligent traffic processing, and advanced analytics across modern network environments.

As part of the Aviz 2.4 release, ASN enhances its capabilities to enable deeper visibility, smarter traffic optimization, and stronger integration with security and monitoring ecosystems.

Built on commodity x86 infrastructure, ASN replaces proprietary appliances with a scalable, cost-efficient, and vendor-neutral architecture.

#### Its modular design allows ASN to:

- Integrate seamlessly with Aviz Packet Broker (APB)
- Work alongside existing packet broker deployments
- Extend visibility across telco, data center, remote, edge, and hybrid cloud environments

ASN functions as a packet intelligence layer between network traffic and tools, enabling:

01

##### Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)

02

##### Application and subscriber-aware analytics

03

##### Metadata-driven observability for analytics and security platforms

## Key Value Proposition

01

**AI-Ready Packet Intelligence:** Generates rich application-level metadata to power advanced analytics, AI/ML-driven insights, and performance monitoring.

02

**Cost Efficiency:** Replaces proprietary hardware with software on commodity x86 servers, reducing CAPEX and operational overhead.

03

**Flexibility & Vendor Independence:** Runs on standard x86 platforms, including Dell, Supermicro, Cisco UCS, HPE, Lenovo, and NVIDIA, eliminating vendor lock-in.

04

**Modular Architecture with APB Integration:** Seamlessly integrates with Aviz Packet Broker (APB) or third-party packet brokers, enabling incremental deployment.

05

**Cloud-Native & Hybrid Deployment:** Extends packet intelligence into public cloud and virtualized environments through vASN, supporting cloud-native traffic acquisition, workload-level visibility, and consistent observability across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures.

06

**Deep Visibility:** Provides application-aware and subscriber-aware insights across enterprise, data center, and 4G/5G networks.

## Deployment Models

### Physical ASN (Bare Metal Deployment)

**Designed for high-performance environments requiring deterministic throughput and scale.** **Key Characteristics:**

- Runs on commodity x86 servers
- High-throughput packet processing for core and aggregation layers
- Ideal for telco (4G/5G), data centers, and enterprise networks

**Supported Platforms:**

- Dell
- Supermicro
- Cisco UCS
- HPE
- Lenovo
- NVIDIA

### Virtual ASN (vASN) – New in Aviz 2.4

**Virtual ASN (vASN) extends ASN capabilities into cloud and virtualized environments, delivering the same packet intelligence without dedicated hardware.** **Key Capabilities:**

- Deploys as a virtual machine or containerized instance
- Integrates with cloud-native traffic mirroring (AWS)
- Supports agent-based (vTAP) collection for granular visibility
- Provides visibility into east-west and intra-host traffic
- Enables consistent observability across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

**Ideal For:**

- Public cloud deployments
- Edge and distributed environments
