How the AI Era is Redefining Network Strategy | Aviz Networks

The AI Era: Paradigm Shift in Infrastructure and Networks

January 22, 2025Network Copilot ™

2025 is here, and it's a year of massive change. The infrastructure world is flipping on its head, and networks are at the core of it

Why? Three unstoppable forces are at play:

Compute Redefined: Old definition of compute is out, GPUs and inference engines are in.
Bandwidth Explosion: Modern apps are devouring bandwidth. Networks need to be faster—a lot faster.
AI Takes Over: AI isn't optional anymore. It's becoming the heartbeat of every operation.

AI is forcing a total rethink of infrastructure, and new infrastructure needs new networks. At Aviz Networks, we see this through two lenses:

AI for Networks
Networks for AI

AI for Networks

AI copilots (or AI Agents) are taking over (or will take over in next couple of years). They're boosting efficiency, sparking innovation, and driving ROI. And networks? They're next in line. The clock has already started ticking. Every CIO is asking the same question: how do we deploy AI into our network operations?

Here's the reality: AI in networks isn't plug-and-play. It's hard. Why? Because just like a human network engineer, AI has to learn. But here's the twist: the AI has to learn differently for every company. Cookie-cutter solutions just don't work. That's why platform AI is a dead end. Networks need private AI.

Here's what it needs to understand:

Vendor-Specific Systems: Routers, switches, SD-WANs, and servers from different vendors—all with unique quirks.
Tool-Specific Data: Systems like Zendesk and ServiceNow hold treasure troves of data that need to be correlated.
Diverse Personas: From executives to architects to operators to procurement, everyone has different goals but relies on the same network data.
Network-Specific KPIs: Data centers focus on scalability and resilience; edge networks care about speed and efficiency.
This means your AI needs to: Keep your data private and secure.
